Marjorie de Sousa: The Unstoppable Elegance of a Latin Entertainment Icon

From Miss Venezuela to international television stardom, Marjorie de Sousa continues to captivate audiences with her versatility, beauty, strength, and deeply personal devotion to her craft.

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Marjorie de Sousa has spent more than two decades building a career defined by talent, reinvention, and undeniable screen presence. A celebrated actress, fashion model, singer, mother, and cultural figure, she has become one of the most recognizable faces in Latin American entertainment, admired for her ability to bring power, glamour, and emotional depth to every role she takes on.

Her journey began on one of Venezuela’s most prestigious stages: Miss Venezuela 1999. What started as a beauty pageant experience soon became the foundation for a much larger artistic future. For De Sousa, that moment gave her not only visibility, but also discipline, confidence, and the tools to navigate an international career. It opened doors, shaped her presence, and prepared her for the competitive world of television.

From there, Marjorie de Sousa quickly proved she was far more than a striking face. Her breakout performance as Camelia Valente in Gata Salvaje introduced audiences to an actress capable of commanding attention with intensity and precision. Later, her unforgettable portrayal of Kendra Ferreti in Amores Verdaderos solidified her place as one of the most memorable antagonists in Latin television. Fierce, complex, passionate, and impossible to ignore, her characters became part of the collective memory of telenovela audiences across Latin America and beyond.

Yet De Sousa has never allowed herself to be limited to one type of role. Her career has been built on movement, risk, and constant artistic growth. She has transitioned beautifully between villains, protagonists, comedy, drama, music, and modeling, showing a level of versatility that reflects the true strength of a long-lasting artist. For her, each character becomes an opportunity to grow, challenge herself, and leave something meaningful behind.

Her recent work in projects such as Cómplices and Lobo, morir matando has shown yet another side of her talent. Whether stepping into comedy or embracing intense dramatic storytelling, De Sousa approaches every role with intention. She does not simply choose projects for the sake of staying visible. She looks for stories, scripts, casts, and characters that move her creatively and emotionally.

Now, anticipation is building around her upcoming return to prime-time television in Infinito Amor, a project that reunites her with legendary producer Salvador Mejía, the producer who gave her first role in Mexico. For De Sousa, this new chapter represents both a homecoming and a continuation of the magic that has defined her relationship with Televisa and the audiences who have followed her journey for years.

Beyond the screen, Marjorie de Sousa’s life reflects many dimensions of creativity and purpose. Her love for music, fashion, and philanthropy has shaped the woman she is today. She has remained committed to supporting noble causes, from helping animals in shelters to collaborating with non-profit organizations. These passions keep her connected to her audience, society, and her fans in a way that goes beyond entertainment.

At the center of her world, however, is her son, Matías. For De Sousa, motherhood is her most powerful and meaningful role. She speaks about it with gratitude, love, and a deep sense of responsibility. Through her example, she hopes to show her son the value of hard work, purpose, kindness, and giving everything with love.

Marjorie de Sousa’s story is one of evolution, resilience, and extraordinary charisma. She has lived many chapters in the public eye, but her greatest strength remains her ability to keep growing while staying connected to what truly matters. With a career that continues to expand and a presence that remains timeless, she stands as an unstoppable force in Latin entertainment.

Exclusive Interview with Marjorie de Sousa

1. You began your journey in the spotlight through Miss Venezuela 1999. Looking back, how did that experience shape your confidence, discipline, and path into international television?

It made a huge difference. First of all, it gave me the tools and confidence needed on an international level. From there, opportunities began to appear. I remained highly focused on everything I had envisioned for my future until my big break came along. Looking back, I feel extremely blessed and fortunate to have been there.

2. Your performances as Camelia Valente in Gata Salvaje and Kendra Ferreti in Amores Verdaderos became iconic for audiences across Latin America. What do you believe makes a powerful antagonist unforgettable?

When you have the opportunity to embody a role, you give a part of yourself to that character, even if it is imaginary. Every single one of these characters has made a significant impact on me because they are full of love, passion, commitment, and a lot of sacrifice. Even though they might be villains in the storyline, for me, they are creations made with a lot of love.

3. Over the years, you have moved beautifully between villainous roles, leading characters, comedy, drama, music, and modeling. How important has reinvention been in maintaining your longevity in the entertainment industry?

Thank you very much for this question. I believe that the true consolidation of an artist lies in versatility. I thoroughly enjoy playing all kinds of roles, especially the ones that prove to be very challenging, because that is where growth happens. I have been part of wonderful projects that allowed me to deliver amazing performances. Perhaps at times I wasn’t even sure if I could do it, but I proved myself, and the results were incredible.

4. You recently explored new creative territory with projects like Cómplices and Lobo, morir matando. What attracts you to roles that challenge a different side of you as an actress?

The storyline is always very important to me. I don’t take on a role just to play it; I need to fall in love with the script, the cast, and the character. It is a combination of elements that makes a project special, and when everything aligns, the result is almost always amazing.

5. Your upcoming return to prime-time television in Infinito Amor has created great anticipation among fans. What can audiences expect from this new chapter in your career?

Televisa is where all the magic happens. For this project, I will be working with the producer who gave me my very first role in Mexico, Salvador Mejía, and I am very excited to collaborate with him again. I have also worked on a previous project with Livia and Gonzalo. It will definitely be another amazing story full of passion, love, and so much more. Stay tuned!

6. Beyond your work on screen, you are also known for your passion for music, fashion, and philanthropy. How do these different creative and personal passions influence the woman you are today?

I have always been dedicated to supporting noble causes, from helping animals in shelters to working with non-profit organizations. I think it all comes together as one; it is part of who I am and helps motivate me in every project. It makes me feel productive and connected to the audience, society, and my fans.

7. As a mother, artist, and public figure, what legacy do you hope to build for your son Matías and for the generations of women who admire your journey?

Being a mother is not an easy task, but it has been the most amazing experience of my life. I thank God every day for the privilege of being Matías’s mom. I try my best to lead by example so he understands the importance of being a good human being, focusing on true feelings and purpose. He is amazing, and I believe that kind of goodness is something you are born with deep inside.

In the future, I want him to look back and see that his mother was a hard-working woman who gave 100% to everything, truly loved her profession, and put immense love into every project she took part in.
