Josh Heuston Lands First Major Role After Shocking ‘Off Campus’ Exit
The 29-year-old actor is set to star as racing driver Noah Slade in the upcoming film adaptation of Lauren Asher’s bestselling romance novel Throttled.
Josh Heuston has booked his first major role following his unexpected departure from Prime Video’s Off Campus.
The 29-year-old actor will star in the upcoming movie adaptation of Lauren Asher’s Throttled, the first book in her Dirty Air motorsport romance series.
Josh Heuston to Play Noah Slade
Throttled follows an ambitious young woman who joins her brother on the racing circuit and becomes involved in a forbidden romance with his teammate and fiercest rival.
Heuston will portray Noah Slade, an up-and-coming racing driver who finds himself drawn into a complicated relationship with Maya Alatorre. The actress who will play Maya has not yet been announced.
The film will be directed by Nzingha Stewart from a screenplay by Melissa Osborne and is being developed for release through Amazon MGM Studios.
His ‘Off Campus’ Exit Shocked Fans
Heuston’s new project comes just months after his surprising exit from Off Campus. The actor played musician Justin Kohl in the first season of the Prime Video series, which premiered in May.
Fans were surprised when it was confirmed that he would not return for Season 2.
Series creator Louisa Levy previously told TV Guide that Heuston would not be available for the upcoming season, while leaving open the possibility of bringing Justin back in the future.
“Not next season, but I love Josh and I would not write him off if I can find a way to bring Justin back at some point,” Levy said.
Heuston’s Next Chapter
With Throttled, Heuston is moving into a new franchise opportunity that combines romance, drama and the high-speed world of motorsport.
The casting announcement also gives the actor a chance to establish a new on-screen identity following his role in Off Campus.
Meanwhile, Heuston has continued to make headlines away from the series. He is reportedly dating his former Off Campus co-star Mika Abdalla, with the pair previously spotted showing affection in public.
